Default Pheasant hunt in MI

Sometimes a blind squirrel finds a nut. Somtimes he finds two!!

I am actually on a duck hunt at Saginaw Bay. Yesterday was too nice for ducks to fly so I went chasing their upland brothren.

The Chessy is 9 and she still has it in her. Flushed five and shot at two. Two were hens. All of them were runners. I got my exercise also.

GHE 12 32" duck gun with tight chokes. Remington express 1 1/4 oz #5.

I should have made you go pheasant hunting this morning instead of out for ducks. Still enjoyed our hunt, always good to visit with you. Good luck the rest of the week!

She was not the best of luck. Not many birds moving. Smacked a crossing male bufflehead and had a nice flock of cans skirt the decoys. Also had a pair of greater scaup skirt the decoys.

Nice spread. The only place I am hearing of blue bills is out your way. I don't believe we saw one last year in VT. Many many buffleheads though. I have heard varied info on why the scaup population is crashing and there is much talk of problems with mollusks but I have heard nothing definitive. Does anyone know what's up?
