Default In the Interest of the Health of our Members and Friends

My daughter Melissa, who is a microbiologist and lead scientist with Pfizer wrote this to me yesterday in a discussion with her about Covid-19 and how we can best protect ourselves.
We need to protect against a virus differently than we do for bacteria.

And Melissa when she’s not being a scientist.

Is your daughter suggesting we use a bleach solution for hand sanitizing Dean?

Soap and hot water, unless you touch something that hasn’t been disinfected.

Bleach, even in a mild solution can be pretty harsh on skin.
I use clorox clean-up spray on countertops, door handles, and bottles and cans of groceries brought into the house and in the process get it on my hands pretty well. We rinse all fruits and veggies in a large bowl of water and bleach.

You may think this is over-kill but Kathy’s immune system is severely compromised.

It is people like Kathy and other friends in the "at risk" categories who concern me the most. The best thing for the rest of us to do is avoid or at least limit contact. Most of all, keep calm and don't do anything stupid which are the same rules for life in general
