Hammer price 6707.00. Seems like a good buy at that price.

Only the second Parker I have seen with a whitetail buck engraved.

That gun sold for $4600 a couple of weeks ago at the RI auction. Nice profit for someone.

You have to wonder why it sold for so little a few weeks back ? I was still High Bidder when Alfred posted again and all the Parker Collectors that watch this site knew about it and no one was bidding ! was thinking with such a Rare Gun there must be a problem you can't see in the pictures so I didn't bid again !

Russ it could just be a sign of the economic times we are in as related to the value of these American doubles. We seem to be seeing it over and over with auctions etc. In general a buyers market as they say, there will always be exceptions and honestly I thought this gun might be one of them but it was not.

I thought it was an exceptionally nice early BH, and figured it ought to have been $8K+, given the Whitworth barrels alone.
I have noticed a downturn in 2 frame guns, and thought it was my imagination.

We are getting older and want lighter or smaller gauges.

12 gauge guns of most grades are pretty readily available most anywhere, be they 2-frame or 1 1/2-frame or even 1-frame. The 8 and 10 gauge guns are even taking a big hit unless they are in high condition or rare configuration. Small bore, small frame guns are holding their own pretty well as long as their condition is good or better. Messed with guns, even in small bore/frame, don’t command the same prices they did even five years ago.
