Default report on tupelo gun show

these are the things of interest i found at the gun show...first thing i found was a small QUEEN hunting knife only 25 the guy said was made of them only 30 dollars made in the 60 s...ammo for pistols was extremly high especially for 22 s the old 50 round box was 10.00 dollers the 225 round box was 40.00 the 550 round box was 75.00 to 80.00...not a good day to buy 22 ammo...in shotgun reloading supplies only one can of triple xx powder 16.00 not bad for a 1 pound can...but zip for all other shotgun loading stuff...lots of collector knives and old pocket watches and old money... now for the guns..did not see a parker of any kind..about 6 lc smiths were seen in 12 ga only all shooters from 12 to 15 hundred...1 steryling fox 12 ga nice 13 hundred .. 1 francote 20 ga double that was mint in case never asked price but salty im sure..2 stevens 22 over 410 with plastic brown stocks in mint shape for 550 each...lot of old winchesters lever actions all very high 1500 to 6000 but one really caught my eye a 1873 winchester lever in 22 calibre in very good shape for 2500one sold at next table for 4500 and the 2500 gun was the better of the too in my book...the guy tryed to trade me that 22 for 2500 for a 10 ga colt i have ...i then seen a over and under german built rifle and shotgun in 16 ga and the 9.3x72 r it had the most beautiful engraving ive seen in years of looking 2800 for it..if i had abeen totin that kinda money i would have brought it home..there were plenty of223 military stuff there all high and plenty of ammo just high...for some reason ther was plenty of the origanal 30 calibre carbines there not in great shape at 900 each...no ammo seen for the 30 calibre s seen several nice as new m-1 garands at 1300 to 1500 one was in 308 calibre it was new for 900....seen only a few old trapdoor 45-70 s....one really nice 3 inch 12 ga belgum mmade magnum with blonde wood as new for 850 that was a good price for this gun i thought..seen a coupla 45 single action colts that was super nice ididnot look at the price tag on these but i would say in the 2500 range...then seen a old wall hanger i should have bought it looked to be a 410 double barrel with hammers pobably belgum made was in fair shape ramrod not origanal but maybe would have shot with a good cleanup...the guy wanted 200 for it dont believe it would have weighed over 4 lbs...yep should have brought it home...last but not least was a model 42 winchester pump...gun was in good working shape fairly tight wood ok but no blueing any where 26 inch modified barrel... this gun had been put up some where for years without seeing any oil or care..ive watched this gun for over a year i new the guy...the fellow had been asking a 1000 for the last year but he dropped to 800 today .i said i cannot buy the gun today im broke fellow says take it with you pay me christmas i said jokeingly christmas will be here tommorrow..i only had a few more guns to look at and i said i would be back..as i came back to the guys table he had left to take a ciggerate break..as i went out of the building i seen him setting down and i told him i was not gonna take the 410 home he said i would be sorry and i said i guess i would be..i then told him i would trade him a rem. moel 25 pump 25-20 in nice shape for it he says no thanks he said but you do have a gun i want i said which one he says i ll give the 410 andxxxx amount of dollers for it..i first thought long and hard i never hunt with this 10 ga colt gun it s just too nice so i turned around and said its a done deal...that 10 ga was a double barrel hammerless 1883 model in about 85 percent condition to make a long storey short i got the 410 and a little change for the colt.. then the fellow said i llk pitch in the winchester 22 1873 model for the money but i turned him down...i went out to the car happy with the trade my buddy i run around with then bought my lunch and said lets go look at a 68 bug he had found turns out guy also had a 30 model a last but not least fire fighters were having barbeque plates for supper and my wife bought them so fellows i would say ive had a good day...hey and the 410 fires just fine...the end... charlie

Nothing against the Winchester 42 , but I'd much rather have a Colt 1883 10 gauge !

But as long as it works for you thats what matters !

Big differnce between a 410 and an 8ga. Dont get to use to the 410 or the big boy will hurt you. Sounds like a nice show.
