Had the FOC (Friends of Charlie) out to Dodge for a late season hunt. Had well over 100 birds up every day. Some limited out, others didn't, but everyone had opportunities. plenty of guns, dogs, great thick cover up to head high.
Our friends' ancestors built the church at Windthorst, see photos. Doc Van has a great voice and he sang a song there that filled the church.
Plenty of guns, bunch of C's D's G's, etc. Doc's new old DH with numbered Twist barrel is shown. Needs some fluffing. Doc carried his CHE 12 with the smooth bore shotgun barrel....he has an original rifled shotgun barrel also for it with interesting rib inscription and made by Parker.
Three day hunt and everyone tired at the end of each day. Very high bird numbers and covering several square miles of ground every day. Temps in the low 50's and light breeze.
Charlie Herzog and the FOC folks, Doc Van Blaricum and son John, Tom Wooden, Dave Weber, Larry , and me.

Dave recently bought his first Parker, a GHE 12ga all rounder. A nice gun, terrific wood and enough engraving to make it interesting. Some folks claim to have a difficult time learning to shoot a double barrel, but Dave quickly became an excellent shot with one.
