Default Slivers recoil pad

Which color Silvers recoil pad is best on a VH? I’m sure most people will say, “Whatever you think looks good.” But, is one color (red, orange or black) more traditional?

I like red. Orange looks too much like a heavy caliber double rifle.

Not black. Red or orange

Orange is technically more correct.

Thanks for your help. I’m leaning toward red because it seems to better compliment the stock color but all three will look good provided they are installed correctly.

Been doing this a long time, so where are those black Silver pads?

This pad was bright orange when it was new. After a year or two of use and keeping it wiped down with oil it darkened up nicely and it has kept getting darker. This one is about 7 years old now.

Many people ask me about “aging back” pads and how to do it. My only reply is always to just use the gun. However, those that usually ask that question do not use their guns.
