Default A souvenir

Was going through some stuff and found this, from my first quail. I was maybe 12 or 13; my dad had gotten a couple of pheasants and I got a quail...nobody was more surprised than me that I actually hit it! Mom was the bird cleaner; seems funny to think that we just dumped our kill off on her but that's the way it was; in fact, I never cleaned a bird until I got married . Anyway, mom fried up the pheasants that night and I had a fried quail all to myself. I opened this box and the foam rubber is about to turn to dust,,,

Thats cool Phil. I have a mounted sourdough biscut from a Colorado elk hunt 32 years ago. Thats all I got and it doesn't look so good but my wifes Bull elk still looks pretty good.

At our house while growing up, the rule was, you kill it, you clean it. Your mother was very nice!

I view that wishbone as a priceless trophy.
