Default 16 gauge help

I had taken my new Parker L grade 16 garage hammer gun out shooting 2 times prior today with no issue. One time 2 rounds of skeet and once sporting clays
Today I took it out for a round of skeet and it doubled on me twice.
Could use some suggestions and advice.
I was using RST shells just as I did before

Id pay a gunsmith to strip and clean it, then assess the parts for wear and adjust if needed.
it can also happen that your finger can cause the doubling on recoil and ive had this happen with gloves on. To troubleshoot this I would shoot the back trigger first and see if it persists. . goodluck

I’ve got a 16 gauge 0 grade top lever 30” gun that I shoot pretty well . Had it down at Old Forge last year and it doubled on me a couple times 3/4 of the way thru . I had a good round going until it doubled and it got in my head so the last 25 were not up to the first 75 . When I got in to the shop the next day the locks came off the file came out and the doubling was cured . I think six strokes on each lock and it was cured , never doubled since knock on wood .

Thanks
Yes I tried shooting the left barrel first and it did not double.
The previous owner had taken it apart and cleaned the locks.
Sounds like an easy fix for a competent gunsmith.

If the action has already been cleaned and it still doubles, you need to get a gunsmith that understands Parker hammer guns.

The next time may crack the stock. I learned that the hard way.

The first Parker that ever doubled on me was a 16 gauge Trogan about 35 years ago shooting skeet .

I was also shooting skeet a few years back at the same club I might add and a Grade 2 lifter 10 gauge doubled on me with 1 1/4 ounce loads in both barrels that damn sure opened my eyes . That lifter got cured and I sent it down the road .
