That's a beauty, but I'd be very concerned about what is causing those fresh "breaks" in the stock head........ one on the rt. side and another underneath. The close-up pic of the right lock shows them clearly. They're "post-Turnbull".

Turnbull did not touch that gun.

The listing states that it was restored by Bachelders. And the overall look of the gun confirms it too.

My bad, absolutely correct. I had just read the text but trusted my memory which, I hope, I am learning not to do.

Thanks for the correction, Brian.

That's a light 10 gauge. My short chamber 10s kick excessively with those stepped chambers even with the light RST 2 5/8" 1100fps load. Perhaps that was the cause of the cracks behind the lock plates. For that reason, I shoot mostly brass shells in my 2 5/8" 10s anymore.

That's a beautiful gun and that wood is very nice.

That inspires me to do something like that with the one I have.

I can't believe the stepped chambers have anything to do with excessive kicking - I'll bet it is a combination of the weight of the gun and the DAH and the pitch.

That gun was returned to Parker Bros. at least once. Anson Deeley release is not original at time of manufacture and the radius between the breech and water table was a later improvement. When I look at the checkering on the forend I new it didnt leave Turnbulls that way. Even with its flaws I am sure I could find room for it in my safe.

I am wrong, there is no radius at the breech of that gun. The side view deceived me.
