The very gun depicted on that calendar is at Wildwood Guns in China, ME if the buyer of the calendar is interested in owning both the calendar and the Parker gun shown on it. I handled the gun at the Augusta Gun Show two weeks ago. I have no dog in this race... just thought you'd like to know.

I sure echo Dean. I would love the two to be matched up for posterity.

Those Wildwood guys are always proud of guns that have been used hard and put away wet. The pictures look like the engraving on the stock plate are about sanded off. $9800 for an old DH, no matter who owned it, is pretty steep.

Bill the wildwood pics are poor. Dean had the gun in hand not long ago. Maybe he could comment on the condition of the plaque and gun in general.

I agree, it is a well used gun and shows some wear but the engraved words on the presentation plate are still quite legible. The plate has seen as much honest wear as the rest of the gun and the fact that the plate is either of brass or gold only contributes to the fact that it will wear faster than the steel that the rest of the gun is made of.
I'm not going to speak for Dick or Craig but I would guess that their prices might be somewhat negotiable. P.S., It has wonderful shooting dimensions... for me at least. |

$9800?? I guess I'm used to buying cheap and finding the interesting provenance later. I guess it doesn't matter, I didn't step up to the plate for the calendar. One year at the Baltimore Show, I stumbled on a table with many of the TPS calendars offered for sale by the person who was named in the TPS captions. I was too overwhelmed to come off my checkbook, but I did have a wonderful discussion with the owner. I have some great Parker paper and don't need everything.

I never grow tired of discovering interesting early paper and original 1880's-1900's gunning photos... 2013 has been a good year for finding unique old double-gun related treasures...
It's all about the hunt and the research that often follows... CSL ______________________________ |
