Bill, I could not figure out the advertised conversion of pounds to dollars. The way the ad was written, showing both amounts, it was like the pound was worth $8. That could not have been right as the pound was only worth around $5 prior to WW 11, and dropped significantly after the war. I think the dollar price factored in shipping, duty, and the 11 percent excise tax.
