Default The "Editor's Gun"

Not to hijack Mike's thread...

The Editor's Gun, so named by Austin Hogan when he presented his wish to me that this gun be engraved "The Editor's Gun" and passed from each editor of Parker Pages to his successor and that each editor embellish it with a tasteful addition from another Parker Hammergun.

The serial number is 59469 and is described in the Serialization & Identification Book as a PT, T, 0, C, 12, 32. I find nothing in that immediate serial number range, going about 2,000 guns both above and below 59469 that shows a lower grade than PT, therefor I will say it is a Grade 0 gun. It is built on a 2-Frame and is a 12 gauge now sporting 30" Vulcan Steel barrels, a ventilated Hawkins pad that has seen plenty of use, a left hammer from a Grade-4 Bernard 16 gauge, a right hammer presumably from a Grade 6 gun (no serial number just the "6" stamped on the back side of it) a very nicely added Monte Carlo comb, and a forend tip from a Grade 6. The checkering has been recut and it was done very nicely.

I will be very proud to bring this gun to PGCA events and to shoot it and will gladly pass it around for others to admire and shoot a bit too.
