Gary, I hunt the Northwest quarter,from about midway up. I have had a rate this year around 3.5 ,(dont ask of my shooting) I think due to good numbers of birds in the cuts around the A.N.F. There are some good areas provided by state and private logging properties that are really coming into their own and look promising for the future. I have used some habitat maps and found more cover than I could hunt in 10 years. The last point is something no one likes to think of, I am sorry to hear that.
