In 1958 I turned in my Garand, presented my papers at the main gate, and went on to the next chapter. Not counting my 1911, I haven't had a military type firearm since until two years ago when a friend persuaded my to try his AR15. I was really surprised at how well it handled; an easy carry, negledgible recoil, geometry that kept you on target after the shot and MOA groups. So, I got a basic S&W M&P and fixed it up with a better grip, a 10 shot mag for field use, my old Lupy 3-9 scope and a Chip McCormic trigger. It's just the thing for targets, ground hogs and coyotes.
