Alfred: The forend (complete) is several standard parts - the wood, the forend iron and the forend latch assembly (unless a Trojan). Each gun has a number of handfitted parts and all the parts in the forend bear the gun's serial number (or last three digits of the SN on small parts). IF you find a complete forend, it may fit nicely or need some adjusting but will definitely not have matching numbers. If there is any chance of finding the misplaced forend, it will be well worth some more looking. The smaller gauge guns command higher prices, all other aspects being equal. Mismatched numbers diminish the value but certainly not the enjoyment of shooting the gun. Good luck on your search.
