This is the thread Tom Carter was referring to. I can only guess that since Tom's guns had 1936 and 1937 date codes on them and the work was performed while manufacturing was still in Meriden. The one letter in the link was dated 1948, well after Remington discontinued the Parker line. It could be that once Remington took over manufacturing they implemented the policy.
