Paul, All I reload for 16 gauge is the black Remington hulls. The AOL vary on these hulls depending on the shot size they were loaded with at the factory. Here are some specs.These dimensions are from the underside of the flange to the end of an open crimp.

1)Remington/Peters hulls marked #8 shot= 1.647

2)Remington marked #7 1/2 shot =1.685

3)Remington /Peters marked #6 shot= 1.685

Couple of things to note here the peters hull are 8 point crimp and the Remington Game loads are 6 point crimp.

I have noticed this difference in hull length is consistent between with #8 hulls being the shortest. Just takes a little getting used to when reloading but no big deal.
