Thanks so much for the info...I think I had the slide upside down.
I did also notice that one of the hammers did not cock. It would slide rearward when I opened the breech, just not stay cocked....hmm. It seems easier to depress the sear arm(?) on the side that did not cock...is my sear spring worn out?
