My opinion is the wood is original, based on what I see. At 56313, that GH falls well into the 'early hammerless' category and I think Parker was still deciding what would be their standard. I have a similar gun 55348 that does not have the exact same pattern but it's close enough.

I know the damascus GH 12 on a #2 frame is the red headed stepchild of the Parker world but I like them. And that one looks quite solid, even the screws look a lot nicer than most.
