Thanks again Dave i will keep that option open if an original doesn't come along. One more question would an original pad also need to be fitted Yes all pads even older ones need to be "fitted" or tweaked- Mine is the red with the Hawkins initials- the staggered vents and the black spacer- came from a 12 gauge Trojan- No. 2 frame- If you are interested (as we can sell such items here- just not the Trojans) no shotgun sales allowed-- I can give you the measurements- including center to center hole spacing, etc-- pad is near new- no sponging (I store my double shotguns muzzles down-pads or buttplates up- in my gun safe- by the by)--
In case you are wondering- this 12 Trojan Parker had a broken buttstock, so I salvaged the pad, and found a replacement with the std. black Non-DHBP- Trojan buttplate- had my gunsmith fit same to said Trojan- I'm a "farm boy" at heart- I have cigar boxes full of buttplates, recoil pads, screws, grip caps- even once had the butt section with the skeleton buttplate from a DH 12-- I never throw anything like those items out- never can tell when you might need one, right??
