It's a male Painted Bunting. Spends it's summers in the southern U.S.A. and northern Mexico and spends it's winters as far south as Panama.
Now all youse probably think I'm a birder or else pretty darn smart. Fact is, we never see them up here in the northern USA, so I had to look it up in Peterson's
