Hi Mark,
The quickest repair would be to make a new one, I have also had good luck welding them up and making a new slot with the appropriate file. I think the straight stock guns look sharp with a high slender stock like yours.
I did find a DHE with a straight stock and 32" barrels. It's an old trap gun with a really high stock (15"X1 1/4"X1 3/4"), it's a bit of a relic but it handles like a dream. I was looking for something with a little more condition, but I'm not disappointed with what I ended up with.
