I'm with Robin. The gun is so dirty and gummed up that it is not working correctly. I suggest using Rem Action Cleaner. Hold the action pointing down, insert the tube nozzle through the hammer nose holes and spray liberally. Leave the action pointing down so all the crud runs out and repeat over the course of several days. That usually does it but if not, the gun will need to be taken apart and cleaned. Most operating problems with Parkers are because of dirt and dried oil.
