You really want to clean some gunk off Kurt you put a jar full of lacquer thinner into the sonic cleaner, pour water in around it to the proper level in the cleaner and put the parts into the thinner with a slightly loose lid. I have a jar full of thinner reserved for just that and it will clean off decades old gunk like nothing else. Doesn't take long either.
