Calvin: There ya go. Much better than the phone camera. The last pic has resolution for sure - muscles, veins, bones all showing a pointer that gets exercised and fed well. Nice shot. Auto focus can be nice but it also can end up focused where you don't really want it to be. Dogs on the move still get auto focus on my end. The closer you are to the dog filling your frame, the greater the probability that auto focus will get it right for you. Then you start getting picky - darn, the eyeball is not perfectly focused, but the nose shows every pore. But, it's all good fun. Our daily phez limit is 3 and all must be roosters. 6 possession limit. It is a hard days worth of hiking to get the three. Mind you, if every shot connected, the day might be shortened a bit - but once I'm out there, I will stay until the sun is setting. If I happen to have 3 early on, I will scout out new areas along the creeks.
Mark: Film and I did not get along well as far as ratio went. A roll of 36 stayed in the camera long enough to be surprised what was on there once it was developed. Never really got into photography until digital and no developing costs. In life before digital, probably had 3000 film pics in 50+ years. Post-digital, around 100,000 in 7 years. Ratio probably not great but have some memorable shots. Then along came digital manipulation software and a not-so-great shot could become a good one. A similar progression can be seen with wing shooting. Kinda difficult with the .22 but better with a single shot shotgun. Then better with multiple burst possibilities and then even better with spreader shot I hear.
