The checkering on a BH would be fully pointed with 90 degree cutter. Angle is most likely 3 to 1. Spacing should be between 28-32 lines per inch.

I do not know if you have a checkering measure like the diamond shaped one that Dembart offers. But I have found that a lot of the time that you try to measure 100 year old checkering, it very rarely perfectly matches any of the common spacings. Just have to go with whatever is closest. I guess it to be due to the slight inconsistencies in the tools back then.
