Neither the original purchase price from Remington to the PGCA , the purchase price from the successful bidder or the name of the bidder was ever publicly disclosed.

The offering circular explained the trigger details, as did an article in the Parker Pages for PGCA members. Curious PGCA members can find the article in the electronic archives.

The engraver selected by Remington to work on the gun was considered an expert in his craft and I have seen his name on other work. Engraving art is like any other art; beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
