I may be sharing too much, but many of my hunts with friends and family have stories which we will remember as long as the birds, dogs, and guns. This hunt was no different and the story will be illuminated in my hunt journal.

The story......
As my son and I were talking (we were sitting in the pickup)with a landowner about property lines, the landowner asked what we do for a living. My son, who is a physician, states such. The landowner, without a pause, says "I think I have a hernia, can you look at it and tell me what I should do"?

As I watched my son graciously get out of the truck and look at this man's umbilical hernia in minus degree wind-chill, it was all I could do to keep a somewhat straight face.

This hunt will be remembered for not only the aspects of the hunt, but of of an odd request which I guess was this farmer's version of a trespass fee....may have to rename this hunt!
