The 5 stand was, per usual, very fun and challenging. Lots of Parker guys finished at or near the top of the leader boards. The Mad Jack targets seemed to be moving at mach 1 and the unbroken targets were landing about 125 yards (+-) from the thrower. Daryl and the Fox guys had their usual great events set up with targets straight from the "Men's Department". I shot at about 550 (+-) targets with my 20 gauge guns getting the lion share of work. My 30" VHE getting about 200 of those, my 32" Sterly 20 got about 100 and my new to me bucket list gun, DHE 32" 1 frame 20 getting 75.
I came home much lighter in the lead department but believe I gained at least 5 pounds from eating Jimmy Hall's incredible pecan pie for dessert for breakfast AND dinner every day. Never mind that I probably ate half of one of his amazing coconut cream pies as well. Oh, and LOTS of oysters. What a wonderful weekend with great people.
You only put on 5 lb? I would say you did really well. As you know my breakfast consisted of bacon, scrambled eggs fried in bacon grease, followed by a slice of pecan pie. I'm not real smart, I had a slice of that pecan pie for breakfast this morning. Amazingly there is enough left for breakfast for the next two mornings. My wife cannot believe I am eating that for breakfast. She just does not understand. It was a good time. We will do it again! Enjoy the big 20...
