Geoffrey did an impromptu job for me several years ago. I bought a knife at the Brays Island Exposition and noticed that he was set up just in front of the vendor from whom I purchased it. I walked directly over to him and asked if he would engrave the bolsters and butt, and put my initials on the shield. He agreed and started to work on it immediately. The shield became dislodged from the scales and he said he would have to take it home and reattach the shield, and that he would ship it to me. I asked if he would sign it somewhere and he politely said "No", that he didn't sign very small jobs like that. He could tell I was disappointed as I smiled and said "Okay". When the engraved knife arrived at my home a few weeks later there was a note enclosed that said for me to look closely and I might find a tiny "G". It was sheer perfection.

I will remember him as the penultimate gentleman.

Prayers for his close friends and family.
