I find that hard to believe. Every one I have encountered was pretty well held in place with green oxidation since the screw is brass. And the screws are machine screws, not wood screws. And they are longer than the typical wood screw that holds the standard caps on. Maybe his was stripped out. Just because it happens once does not make it prone to happening.
