Nicely written and wonderful photos!
I guess for me what makes a good hunt is one in which something unexpected happens. This of course is common because every hunt is different from the last. Also, when dealing with nature - uniqueness is the norm.
I also favor the occasions when “all the parts” seem to be present. The perfect dog, gun, weather, partner, terrain, and at least one good opportunity to shoot.
