Default Top Lever Pheasant Hunt

I decided to carry a Top Lever 12 Gauge today and harvested a nice December Minnesota Rooster. It was a one shot, one bird hunt. I was shooting Remington's Low Recoil 1 1/8oz of #7 1/2's. I find this factory load to be a very mild shooting load for the older twist barrels.

The specifics on the gun are:
Quality T Top Lever (Fish Tail Lever) 12 gauge with 28" Plain Twist Barrels choked tight (.025) and tight (.027) on a #1 frame with a weight of 7 lbs. The gun was shipped to Boston in 1892 for a price of $55. It is a joy to carry in the field.
