No reluctance, nor pain either Greg. I totally get your enthusiasm for the Repro. I've had a few, all 28s, and my daughter absolutely loves the 2bbl set I gave her. As I recall, her words were "It's so pretty".
All kidding aside I think the Repro was a well thought out undertaking, and while we latch onto the occasional complaints in our 'mini war' the gun has filled a niche where getting into the original has a price entry point which limits some. The inevitable argument may be 'how well are they standing up when they reach 100 years, and beyond'?
Do you remember the movie The Stepford Wives? The 'perfect clones', without the human faults. They were beautiful but without a soul. When the Repros celebrate their centennial, I have no doubt they, too, will have a soul.
