Parker Bros. had the policy of holding their chambers 1/8 inch shorter than the intended shell. The specification sheets illustrating that are shown pages 164 to 169 of The Parker Story. A.H. Fox Gun Co. also held their chambers 1/8 inch short. I have a 20-gauge VH-Grade of 1930 vintage that has 2 3/8 inch chambers intended for the 2 1/2 inch 20-gauge shell, indicating that Parker Bros was still chambering for the older shorter shells many years after the Super-X type shells were introduced in 2 3/4 inch length cases.
