thanks Jerry, Ive been a woodworking hobbiest for a long time. I was fortunate that the break at the wrist was very clean also I could still see the checkering lines in the forend The checkering in the sock was Parker perfect already and just needed to be scrubbed with some alcohol to get the crud out of the cuts. If I ever do another broke stock repair I will match the epoxy color to the lighter refinished color rather than the dark oxidised color of the unrefinished walnut (rooky mistake. luckily the wood had that nice striping of light and dark which keeps the missmatch from looking too bad.
