Looks like a poor repair job on the toe, Doug.But their are craftsman out there that could make it disappear. There are also butt plate reproductions available that would probably require some fitting. The dent in the barrel does look minor. The gun does not have a lot of value, hate to even list a value.
If it were mine, I would fix the toe and butt plate, clean or pretty up the stock, and then just shoot it on game and clays. If you really like it, you could refinish and reblue at a later date, just me, but I would never re case color it.
