Not sure how good a 410 will be for coons in a barn. Ours are huge and hard to approach.

Buying any of the classics in 410 for a truck gun would be a frightfully expensive proposition, I think. There are tons of eastern european and other doubles in 410 that are cheap and wouldn't suffer much from having the stock cut off, which would be a given with a classic double.

I just did this for my grand kids (8 and 6). I ended up buying a really nice Turkish O/U in 410 that is made for a child, and a Mossberg pump with replaceable spacers and a really spongy thick recoil pad. It is adjustable down to about 11-1/2 inch pull with a short barrel. The O/U is about 12-1/2 inches. Young kids don't do well with womens guns. They are still too long and heavy.

The O/U was about $550 and the Mossberg about $340. I actually like the pump due to length and width, and throw it in the 4 wheeler a lot.
