Default Montana Hunt

Arrived home late Saturday night from a week in the Geraldine-Denton-Lewistown area of Montana. This area suffered through extremely dry conditions this summer. Unfortunately the wildlife is concentrated in areas where they can find some cover.
We limited each day on Pheasant, the Huns numbers were up considerably over the last several years however Sharptail numbers were LOW. If they don't get moisture soon the winter survival rate could be poor.

Funny trip as my Brit decided she should retrieve a young skunk to my hand. Spent four day bathing her twice a day (Dawn Soap-Hydrogen peroxide-Baking Soap) followed by Dry Shampoo spray. Then moved to Vagisil Peach Blossom Treatment for next 4 days. Smell is now gone unless she gets wet!!

Sad ending of the trip as the two big ranches we hunt have sold to investor groups so could be our last time hunting this private land.

I carried my Fox Sterlingworth 16 gauge 28 inch barrels with RST # 7 paper shells.
