When my friend, Bob Hess, owned this gun, before it was outed, he also had a wooden case of Remington 24 gauge shells. Bob was somewhat of a Remington distributor or some such. When Bob died, the gun went to the four winds, but the shells stayed in the basement of the gentleman, Bill, who was handling his estate, at least the gun part. I spent some time hanging out at his house, trying to figure out how I was going to pay for the $2500 VHE 28 gauge skeet configured, cased gun or the $2500 20 gauge VHE skeet gun. Bill was very patient with me, but the 28 gauge escaped, but I still shoot Bob's 20 gauge skeet gun, cased in the 28 gauge Abercrombie and Fitch case. I also ended up with a great 30" solid rib Superposed 3" gun in mint condition. Bill said I could buy the 24 gauge shells if I could unearth the 24 gauge VH that was then in the wind. Otherwise, he would keep them. I next saw the 24 VH at the NRA show and PGCA meeting at Nashville in the 90s, many years later. I don't believe it was for sale at that show.
