For my 2 1/2" loads, I use the same recipes that I use when loading 7/8 ounce 2 3/4" loads, including the same wads, the knockoffs are cheaper. Oddly, they fit just fine in the 2 1/2" hulls. If the 2 3/4" loads overfill the 2 1/2" hulls, change the wad to a slightly shorter wad. There is no safety problem in using your 2 3/4" recipes. The only problem is getting a wad to fill the hull without overfilliing.
