Kearcher's article states that the run of 18-gauge shells was done around 1905. They were 2-inch with a payload of 3/4 ounce of #7 1/2 shot. All the shells shown in his article are #7 1/2 pushed by 18-grains of Infallible dense smokeless powder.

In 1905, UMC's NITRO CLUB 20-gauge loads of Infallible in the "standard" 2 1/2 inch shell were Load No. X21 -- 16-grains pushing 3/4 ounce of shot, Load No. X22 -- 16-grains pushing 7/8 ounce of shot and Load No. X23 -- 18-grains pushing 7/8 ounce of shot.
