RE:firing pin separation on 28-.410 Repro combo with 0000 marked .410 and F marked 28 ga barrels

.410 0000 pin separation 15/16"
28 ga 00 marked F pin separation 15/16" i.e. the 00-frame pin separation

Since the distance across the bolsters of the 00-frame is wider on the 28 ga, the .410
barrels 0000 frame has to be wider, wider spaced barrels, wider rib and barrels do not touch at the terminal end. As a result, the .410 0000 barrels are in fact heavier than the
Repro 28 ga barrels as I reported earlier.

Further, I tried fitting both aforementioned Repro barrels to an original 28 ga 000 VHE and neither fit the original VHE frame, not surprising. However, the bolster width and pin spacing is the same. Fitting was a lug issue.

Personally, I find it hard to believe, due to the financial difficulties affecting the manufacturing the of the Repros late in production, that there ever were 000-frame Repro .410 barrels produced with 13/16" pin spacing and 1 3/4" bolster spacing as the originals. And, I would spectulate that stand alone Repro .410's are all 0000 marked
and fitted on the 28 Repro frames that are actually 00-frame sized. Further still, these stand alone .410's would be and are actually heavier than the Repro 28 ga and original 28 ga 00-frame guns for the reasons sited above; not so with the original 000-frame
.410's.

When someone comes forward with a 000-frame .410 Repro like the original, Iwill stand corrected.
