Fair point Larry! I've for sure made mistakes both ways: too picky sometimes and too hopeful sometimes as to condition and configuration. For me the "more fish in the sea" way of thinking usually works out better. In this case, I'm pretty good on Parkers and will try to be patient for an Ilion made nice original 12 gauge. Any configuration for weight, barrels, and stock is actually okay by me.
A regret I made being picky 30 plus years ago is not buying a absolute mint Winchester 1901 10 gauge with the cursive engraving because I "couldn't get shells for it." I also passed on a like new 1897, last year made gun because It's barrel was "too long." Both guns were $350 then.
