Dean when the smith recessed the safety slide he also did some work on the safety itself. There is no click.
I have 7 Ruger #1's two of which are custom guns in calibers from 250/3000 to 450/400NE. All are good shooters as is a Winchester High Wall custom in 38/55.
I have come to enjoy the feel of a single shot rifle and shot a nice mule deer in Wyoming with the 7mm/08
