Sounds like a skeet configured gun. Parkers as you describe that one are often referred to as "transition" guns. I have seen a few of them including a high condition GHE 16 ga belonging to a friend.

This gun is also in the 236XXX range. And the engraving looks like Runge's style but I can't be certain.
