Bill: I had the same problem when I was out there the second weekend of the season. We ended up southwest of Ness City about 25 miles and fortunately we had a road atlas in one vehicle that gave us some of the road names(major) on the 911 grid which helped as well as my grandson had a GPS on his cell phone. After driving around for 2 hours plus, we finally positively identified one of the walk in areas and were ok then. A lot of the roads are vacated and although the Fish and Game map is gridded by mile square sections not all the roads go through. We found one that we had to drive across a tractor road a 1/4 mile to get to the entrance. I have an old aquaintance on the Fish and Game Board and plan to make him aware of this situation for whatever it's worth. We got a big laugh at my son and his buddy in the other truck calling them Gilligan and the "Skipper" and we were not in the mood for a stranded three hour cruise. We acused them of skipping the map reading class in high school. The 6 of us ended up with 11 birds so that helped. Happy New Year!!!! Lee.
