I arrived in Kansas late Friday night in Ashland and was told that the only place to buy a license was Dodge City so I drove to the Wal-Mart Saturday morning and got my license but they were out of Hunting Atlas as was everyone else and since it was the weekend the Parks and Wildlife office was closed. I was about to leave Dodge when, out of desperation, I tried the Boot Hill Museum and a salesperson said yes her mother has some just go over to the Longbranch Saloon where a woman dressed like Miss Kitty had some in the trunk of her car--how appropriate for Dodge City.
The Hunting Atlas would be INFINITELY more useful if the Parks and Wildlife folks would include the roads or even the GPS coordinates of the Walk In Hunting Areas. I could never find the 4 to 5 square mile area suggested in a thread above nor could folks that had lived their entire life direct me--very frustrating and totally unnecessary. End of rant. Bill
