In my previous post I had stated that I thought 1915 was a little early for Frederick Anschutz but I was wrong.

Anschutz began with Parker Bros. in 1897 and was chief engraver and head of the engraving department from 1911 through to his death in 1930 when Runge took over.

So, the unusual engraving on this gun may well have been done by him, though the animals on it are not executed in what he was known for on the grades above 5 and and up.
