So a bit more work today. Ran some patches & cleaner through the barrels - they're clean. On the outside, there are just a couple of spots on the barrel that feel a bit rough (where there was a bit more than surface rust. Those spots are not deep, but I did use a bit of Hoppe's foaming cleaner & a small nylon brush. Aside from the rough spots, it's tough to tell where the rust was anywhere on the gun.
Left it with a thin coat of Hoppe's oil - looks much, much better. Mechanics operate smoothly. Maybe I'll get a few minutes tomorrow to post pictures.
Before I take it out for a few rounds, I'd like to have someone take a look at the barrels. Is there someone, preferably on the east coast, that is recommended?
